Legacy Planning

From the archive to academia, Mercer Contemporary offers full-service Legacy Planning for established artists, collectors, and executors of estates. Our Legacy Specialists have observed a growing and important need in the market. While not every artist is a Jeff Koons, nor is every collector an Eli & Edyth Broad, their contribution to the canon of art history is just as important. Being able to preserve artistic practices and connoisseurship at every level expands scholarship in an ever-fragmented post-internet age. Our objective is to protect and preserve an artist or collectors vision and life's work in the history books for future generations. Our Legacy Specialists work to document an artist's oeuvre and practice, or a collectors connoisseurship and vision, through an array of services, publications, and curatorial endeavors in partnership with trusted legal and taxation advisors.
